Composition for oboe and guitar titled Travels – Musical poem op. 33 consists of three parts: part I Sailing ship, part II The lighthouse, part III Tavern. The piece has a programmatic character, in which I “talk” about a sea voyage through music. I chose this journey because I believe that music and the sea have many common features. After all, the poet says: “music often embraces me like the sea”…
In the first part – Allegro moderato, we set sail on a sailing ship into the open waters. And although the journey is full of joy, there will be nostalgic sounds. Part II – Larghetto cantabile is a visit to the island, where from a high lighthouse we gaze at the infinities of the blue sea… In Part III – Allegro giocoso, at the end of the journey, we visit a port tavern full of the bustle of sailors from all over the world. There is humor and loud laughter in the conversations, but there are also quarrels and disputes, as is usually the case in sailors’ taverns…
