Moderato Poeticois a set of three large suites of several movements each; Good Night Arias Op 14 is a set of ten pieces obviously intended to be played to children, as the titles involve such pieces as At The Witch’s Cottage, and In The Snow Queen’s Sleigh to name but two. That said the player would have to be a grownup, or alternatively a very talented child, as they are quite difficult. The first thing that strikes you is the lack of anything hackneyed. The harmonies and melodies which are very clever and inventive always surprise you and reading the music, as a result, is destined to keep you on your toes. The second suite is Poetic Miniatures Op 13, a set of nine wonderfully evocative pieces whilst the final set is Op 11 Serenada Latina, six movements in length. Absolutely every single piece is well worth playing, so buy with confidence.
